Lorenzo Baloci #
Cambridge, MA - 2025
I couple a strong technical background in computer science with over a decade of product management leadership. My experience ranges from diving into P&L and financials, to handling high-profile security incidents, negotiating internet standards, or setting up distributed teams from scratch.
My focus is on operating SaaS businesses, networking, security and fintech; but mostly I just love working at the intersection of people and technology to ship something real and meaningful.
Google #
I work at Google as a Product Manager, and I’ve been at the company for 12 years.
- At Google Shopping (2024-present), I’m helping define how Google builds internal models to identify and rank merchants across all our Shopping surfaces. If you’ve ever tried to buy a product online, looked at reviews, or read details about a merchant, you probably interacted with the space I’m working on.
- At Google Domains (2017-2024), I led the product’s growth to become the fastest-growing domain registrar in the industry, scaling to over 10M domains and establishing it as one of the most beloved platforms in the industry. I then led its complex divestiture to Squarespace.
- Earlier, I worked across multiple areas, with a focus on growing Google Workspace’s base by optimizing the signup and onboarding experience.
Early Career #
Back in Italy, I founded and operated a Small Business (2009-2012) providing services on linux servers, security, and web development. I also did research on RFID security vulnerabilities, and learned a lot about running a business.
Education #
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, University of Venice
- Exchange Program at DTU, Copenhagen
- Co-founder of c00kies@venice security group
Beyond Work #
When not working or spending time with my family, you might find me:
- Building financial tools (I have a cool custom direct indexing algorithm)
- Tinkering with IoT and radio projects
- Mentoring others in tech and product management
I’m a dual 🇺🇸/🇮🇹 citizen, and have lived with my family in several amazing places: Venice, Copenhagen, Dublin, Seattle, and these days Boston, with the Bay Area feeling like a second home.
